KwikRink Synthetic Ice®

Skating on synthetic hockey ice offers a very similar experience to real ice. With KwikRink's advanced technology, the glide and feel are designed to be as authentic as possible, making it suitable for professional training.

Can I use my regular ice skates?

Yes, you can use your regular ice skates on synthetic ice.

How does synthetic ice work?

When skating on ice, the blade’s friction generates heat and melts the ice surface, and you glide on a thin layer of water. Skating on ice causes the same friction and heat, which releases lubricants chemically engineered into the panels, creating the same gliding effect.

Is it suitable for all ages and skill levels?

Yes, synthetic ice can be used by individuals of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to professionals

Will Synthetic Ice Damage my Skate Blades?

Unlike real ice that is cold, synthetic ice is room temperature with an added friction of about 10-15% more than natural ice. This will cause your blade to heat-up quicker as you train. To reduce the amount of wear on your edges be sure to choose a quality blade for your ice skates.

The harder the steel on your blade, the longer it will hold the edge on your skate. May times blades that come with new skates are ok for natural ice but not the best choice for synthetic.

Can I perform all hockey drills and maneuvers on synthetic ice tiles?

Our skate-able synthetic ice tiles enable you to master a wide range of hockey drills and maneuvers. While you might notice subtle variations in resistance compared to real ice, our advanced synthetic ice tiles replicate the skating sensation with precision. From seamless starts and stops to confident edging and turns, our product creates a top-tier surface for all your training needs.

PowerSkater®

If you are not skating, this system fills that void! PowerSkater forces users into proper form. Target key muscle groups and improve balance to excel as a skater!

What age is the PowerSkater® designed for?

Ages 8-to-Pro. We recommend that children from ages 8 - 18  use the PowerSkater under adult supervision.

Does the PowerSkater help backward skating?

Backward skating demands a technique akin to forward skating, emphasizing crucial elements such as maintaining a proper knee bend, bending at the hips instead of the back, executing 45-degree pushes, and ensuring a correct arm swing. Strengthening and conditioning your muscles through forward skating can notably enhance your performance in backward skating. Moreover, the lateral crossunder attachment serves to teach the essential pushes and pulls integral to backward skating technique.

Will a PowerSkater® replace Power Skating clinics?

The PowerSkater® should be viewed as a supplement to a professional skating instructor. It helps strengthen the important muscles used in skating. This can be challenging to do on the ice. The goal would be when the athlete gets on the ice with an instructor, they’re much further developed to work on more advanced aspects of skating.

My child is in the awkward growth stage and seems to have lost some of his/her skills. Will a PowerSkater help?

Absolutely. The PowerSkater® forces a certain amount of coordination and reinforces the correct technique. The muscles as they grow will strengthen and help “memorize” your movements.
